Employees have the option of purchasing Critical Illness and Accident coverage through UnitedHealthcare. While your health insurance coverage can be used to cover some of your medical expenses, these voluntary benefits pay you directly in the event of a critical illness or accident to help cover non-medical expenses, including rent, mortgage, groceries, deductibles, daycare, etc. An employee must enroll in a plan to cover a spouse or a child.
Critical Illness Coverage
The Critical Illness Protection Plan helps give you and your family more financial security if you or a covered member is diagnosed with a covered illness. Covered conditions include but are not limited to:
- Cancer
- Coma
- Heart attack
- Heart failure
- Major organ failure
- Permeant paralysis
- Stroke
- Alzheimer’s
- Parkinson’s
- Complete loss of hearing or vision
- Certain child-only conditions
This plan includes a $50 annual wellness benefit for Employee and Spouse if a qualified wellness service is completed.
*Dental and Vision exams are excluded from the Wellness Reimbursement.

The Accident Protection Plan provides extra coverage to complement your health plan in case of a covered injury. The Accident Protection Plan will pay you a cash benefit in addition to the benefits your health plan gives you. Below is a list of some of the injuries and services that are covered under this plan:
- Burns
- Concussions
- Fractures/dislocations
- Organized sports injuries
- Ambulance services
- Emergency room visits
- Medical appliances
- Rehabilitation hospital admissions

Benefit Assist
For employees who are enrolled in Accident and or Critical Illness plus carry an IncredibleBank medical plan will automatically have access to United Healthcare’s benefit assist program. Benefit Assist will ensure that you get the benefits you are eligible for – and get them easier and faster. Benefit assist works by reviewing medical claims that are also eligible for an accident or critical illness claim. First, a Benefit Assistant will contact you if you may be eligible for a benefit payout. Next, they will work with you to submit a claim on your behalf. A Benefit Assistant will help by:
- Reviewing your eligible medical claims.
- Supporting you throughout the claims process if any of your medical claims appear to qualify for benefit payout through one of the supplemental health plans.
- Connecting you with a claims specialist who will help you submit a supplemental health plan claim on your behalf so that you can receive your payment sooner!
